A very talented group of young artists that have recently found national fame as Semi-Finalists on Sky 1's Must Be The Music.
Flow Dem are a 5-piece urban group with ages ranging from 16 to 18 years old. Hailing from Cardiff, Newport and Bristol these four rappers and vocalist bring a fresh energy and vitality back into the music scene whilst positively representing young people all over the UK. They are a diverse and exceptional young group with a unique approach to music that sets them apart from other MCs. With witty, catchy hooks and spell binding lyrics, they are truly the next generation of talent following on from Dizzee Rascal, Tinchy Stryder, N-Dubz and Chipmunk to name a few.
The boys have all been into grime/hip hop since before they can remember and have forged their musical careers from the ground up, firstly competing in clashes/battles against other MCs from car parks to street corners; progressing to radio stations and now performing in clubs aplenty. Flow Dem offer something unique to the current popular entertainment culture. "Clean but not in a Glee way, dirty but not grimey enough to scare off the record buying public, the MCs are all true and legitimate on the streets but their songs give a good indication of their wider talent and appeal".
With their previous jaw dropping, high octane performance in London O2 supporting Tinchy Stryder (and with a live band to boot), these energetic, fun loving young artists absolutely blew the crowd away. Having already performed alongside some of the biggest names in the UK urban scene including Ndubz, Professor Green, Skepta, Ghetts, Fugative, McLean, Bashy, Roll Deep and Tempa T, Flow Dem have had a glimpse of how far their talent can take them. With their Sky 1's Must Be The Music Semi-Final track 'Get What I Want' reaching Top 40 in the Itunes download chart and #4 in its genre chart, there is no doubt that the future looks very bright as they continue to make their mark here in the UK. And if the clamour for autographs and pictures by screaming teenage fans after each performance is anything to go by, then the UK's newest urban collective are indeed ready for the big time.
Flow Dem have already released a mixtape and are currently working on their 1st album. These young artists aim to be an inspiration to all young people like them and are set to blow in 2012. Definitely ones to watch...
